OCP Day at the Capitol 3/31/10

 Are You Ready?

Mark your calendars.  Ask your family, friends, and co-workers to attend.  On March 31st, OCP will have its first ever Day at the Capitol.  It's like they say, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression." Let's make OCP's first impression HUGE!  What better time is there?

- PPB employees have been furloughing since last August
- DOC employees narrowly avoided the same fate for FY10, but will most certainly face some level of furloughs in FY11
- Several of our fellow DOC employees have lost their jobs due to the dire budget situation, and more personnel cuts are certain to come in FY11

March 31st is your opportunity to show the folks at the Capitol that OCP members are paying attention.  If we show up in force on the 31st, they will not forget us!

Top 3 Reasons to Attend OCP's Day at the Capitol

1) It's EASY!

Don't worry, you won't have to talk to legislators alone, you'll walk the halls with fellow members and we'll provide you with talking points and handouts.  Bring your friends and family members - the more OCP supporters we have at the Capitol that day the bigger impression we make!

2) It's FUN!

After the lobbying is through, OCP will provide lunch and an opportunity to meet other members from around the state and swap stories about the day.

3) It's VITAL!

If OCP can make a big impression on the 31st, it will set the tone for all of our future interactions with the Legislature.  You already make the financial commitment to OCP because you believe that having an association of, by, and for Corrections can improve your profession.  Make the commitment to show up on the 31st, and the rest of the year OCP will be able to work more effectively on your behalf.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS.  INVITE EVERYONE YOU KNOW. ALL OCP SUPPORTERS ARE WELCOME.  MAKE PLANS TO

BE THERE
